Calcium

Ensuring that bones are healthy is a life-long undertaking, from childhood to old age. Including enough calcium in your diet is essential for:

  • the development and maintenance of healthy bones and teeth;
  • helping muscles to work properly; and,
  • normal blood clotting.

Dairy foods are the richest source of calcium in the Australian diet, providing over 50% of an adult's and over 60% of a child's daily calcium intake#. Dairy foods also contain a range of additional minerals and nutrients also important for good health. This extra goodness cannot always be found in vitamin and mineral supplements.

Just three serves of dairy foods a day can help achieve the average recommended dietary intake (RDI) for calcium, and yet 50% of Australian women and children are not getting enough calcium each day^!

How Yoplait helps

Yoplait Original , Yoplait Lite or Yoplait formé yogurt can provide at least 240mg of calcium per 175g tub, helping contribute to your daily calcium needs.

A 200g serve of Yoplait Yoplus yogurt provides almost 400mg of calcium - or about 40-50% of an adults daily requirement*!
